So, I have turned my attention west wards, all the way to the USA.
This is my favourite song by Elvis Presley, by far. Apart from the depth that the song has, it had an influence on me from an early age. This is probably why I started with street photography, and started to write about the poor and the destitute.
This may have influenced my later thought process, wherein I started to photograph them with a view to capturing their essential dignity as people, and where I started to respect their private space, even though, in many ways, they have none.
I wasn’t familiar with this song of Elvis’s. It’s a social statement that art, in the form of song, is trying to point out the ills of society. It’s a beautiful song Rajiv.
