Some Music From My Land

The above is some contemporary stuff from the Indian side of Punjab – my land

The one below, is from the Pakistan side of Punjab – also, my land

What is interesting, is that we have to thank the Coke Studios for bringing the fantastic music of my land to the public

And below – music inspired by an old saint – Bulleh Shah. Bulleh Shah is one of the great Sufi saints of Punjab. Bulleh Shah, born as Abdullah Shah, lived between 1680 and 1758. He sang in Punjabi and Siraiki

This is testament – a poem by a Sufi saint, sung by a modern day Sikh. Politicians can try to divide people. But, deep truths and ties last and last between people. Forever.

And one more…. listen to the “Allah Hoon….” , and you will realise the significance of cultural contiguity..
