I went to Inner Mongolia – Nei Menggu – about 10 years ago. It was a beautiful week (sadly, I lost all the pictures), wandering alone in the grasslands and in the Gobi Desert.
It created some confusion in me, which persists till this day. Until then, I was clear that when I die, my ashes should go into the mountains of India. When I went to Nei Menggu, I added the grasslands to my bucket list
It was then that I was introduced to some modern Mongolian music. I do have some Tuvan throat singing in my collection.
However, I thought it may be nice for all of you to listen to some of their modern music.
Even their rap songs have something of the spirit of the land and the skies in them.
Too bad you lost all of your photos!
Would’ve been awesome to see your pictures though!
All gone….
Love it. thanks for sharing this. I love the movie, The Weeping Camel. Sharing one back: My husband likes listening to Inidian (USA) rap sometimes, like the one by Frank Waln https://youtu.be/5_1fmbKCMmY .
Glad you like it! The Weeping Camel, yes?
Beautiful , all of it !
I am glad you like this
Well that was interesting! It didn’t all go down well with me but now I can say I’ve heard Mongolian hip hop! I did like the Boerte – Gobi video.
Oh yes, the Boerte-Gobi one is very nice.
Thank your stars I did not unleash throat singing onto you!
Oh and such a shame you lost your photos of what must have been a wonderful trip. I’m sure your memories must still be very vivid.
Oh yes… It was a wonderful, magical week
This is so cool! I really want to go to Mongolia, specifically the Gobi Desert. Could you check my travel blog out?
I will!
