When I wrote of music, I forgot to mention the music of Turlough O’Carolan.
His music is sublime.
Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738) was a blind Gaelic harper, composer, and singer whose great fame is due to his gift for melodic composition. He was the last great Irish harper-composer and is considered by many to be Ireland’s most celebrated composer.
You must listen to this.
Yes, I know of these musicians. Good stuff. Love world music. More world music for you – Voix Bulgares https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD83L4kI3qY Their strange harmonies give me goose bumps. The notes and keys they sing in are not Western.
More to explore! I was exploring some Mongolian music today
Goodness me, if we ever bump into each other, we’ll be able to talk music all day! You seem to like a really wide range of music – and I like a good 90% of it! Love this one – I even used to be able to play some of O’Carolan’s music (very badly!) on fiddle, once upon a time!
Oh! Cool. I am not musical in that sense. The Gaulish Bard, Cacofonix, was modeled on me!
Ha! That could be said of me, too!
Ha!Ha! I take that honour… But, I am sure we will talk a lot about music and other things, if we do ever bump into each other
I do love this music. It must be in the genes?
Leslie
I think so.. While editing, I was exploring some Mongolian music
Drumming…. The word I was looking for was ‘primal’… Not primitive
I think drumming is primal. It was a form of communications too. Somewhat like Morse Code maybe?
Leslie
I did not think of the Morse code angle, but you may be onto something
Sublime indeed Rajiv! Love it!
Yeah. His music was really marvellous. Is marvellous
its such a beautiful clear/clean sound. How talented and how lucky to have such a talent. Thanks for sharing…
Yes, I stumbled upon him by accident years ago, and could not stop saying ‘wow’.
Love this my friend! 🙂
Hugz & Love ❤
His music is good, huh?
Yes! 🙂 I had never heard of him before
There you go!!
The other group, Omnia, is lead by Dutch musicians
I know Omnia, I saw them live a couple of times. 🙂
I like their music
