How Could I Forget Him?

When I wrote of music, I forgot to mention the music of Turlough O’Carolan.

His music is sublime.

Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738) was a blind Gaelic harper, composer, and singer whose great fame is due to his gift for melodic composition. He was the last great Irish harper-composer and is considered by many to be Ireland’s most celebrated composer.

You must listen to this.

  1. Goodness me, if we ever bump into each other, we’ll be able to talk music all day! You seem to like a really wide range of music – and I like a good 90% of it! Love this one – I even used to be able to play some of O’Carolan’s music (very badly!) on fiddle, once upon a time!
