I was going to use this photo for an opening blog on filters, and I will.
This was taken in McLeodGanj, up in the Kangra area of India. I love the sight of light filtering through the trees. It dances to a cosmic rhythm, and sometimes we are aware of this.
I adjusted the levels. Next step was to add a contrast layer with curves, with a neutral density filter. I then boosted the vibrance a tad, adjusted the green
Finally, I added a last curves layer, along the green channel, and reduced the noise using Nik’s Dfine.
The trees look similar to Washington state’s.
Oh. Nice.. Delhi has lots of trees. This is one of the good things about Delhi. But, we don’t have trees like this
An interesting shot go the challenge, will be interesting where it will go in the coming weeks,
Yeah… Sometimes, I just sit staring at the photo and then things start to happen in the sub-conscious part of my brain
I really get that, you just start to see the picture differently the longer you look at it.
Yeah, exactly!
Just beautiful!
Thank you!
Hey Rajiv … nice shot. There is something magical about light filtering through trees. It will be really interesting over the next few weeks. 🙂
Yeah, I am curious myself. btw, you won an interesting match in the World Cup. Maybe, we shall meet you in the finals?
Maybe we will! Was a good game!😃
I’m always fascinated by light filtering through trees. This is lovely.
Thank you. I love this as well!
These look like larches, not really a tree I associate with India, but it is such a huge and diverse continent. Is the slightly white misty look due to clouds or mist or did you add that in with processing?
No clouds or mist added. Just colour correction
Nice subject matter. Looking forward to your next edits.
Thanks.. I have no clue which way I will go for week 3 and 4..
Wow this is amazing! I want to go there 🙂
You should
Oh what a beautiful sight and to be there and see that – magical!
I like what you have done so far Rajiv and am looking forward to the next 3.
Thank you! Let’s see how it goes
I have an idea about what I want to do for Week 2… Week 3 and Week 4 will stretch my imagination!
Thats great on all counts! 😃
