“He who is true in his heart to his oath has truth to fight for him. Treachery begets treason, treason begets confusion; and, who are ye to stay the course of things? Faith begets faith; courage gives birth to opportunity.”
This, to my mind, is a wonderful quote. I actually do not have much to add to this.
Yet, think a bit about this. In the darkest moments, how many of us stay true to our oaths? How many of us stay true in our hearts?
Many of us are lead astray so easily.
Faith does indeed beget faith.
Courage – deep courage – allows us to see. It allows us to pierce the veil, and to see the opportunity hidden in the shadows.
What distinguishes us further, is our motive. Are our motives clean? Or, not.
When treachery begets treason, and treason begets confusion; our motives are not clean. Courage alone then does not suffice.
But, when we are true in our heart, courage springs from despair and allows us to see the path hidden in the shadows.
