I will be off tomorrow, to a place called McLeodGanj. McLeodGanj is named after a British gentleman of the same name. It is the sister town of Dharamshala, which is the Dalai Lama’s capital-in-exile.
This is a 2 day drive from Delhi, if you want to do it comfortably. I do… I want to do some photography along the way. Else, you can do it in one day. In this season, when we have heavy fog and crazy drivers, this is not recommended.
McLeodGanj is not at a very high altitude. It is just about 6,800 feet above sea level.
I doubt I will do any posting, but I will try and follow your posts.
If the internet connection is bad, then there will be The Sound of Silence.
Those, from my generation – the Pen & Paper Generation – may well remember this song, which is one of the truly great songs of our times: The Sounds Of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel.
Enjoy!
I’ve had a good education in that regard; my mother introduced me to Simon and Garfunkel. ‘Tis a lovely song.
Have fun! Be safe!
Thank you!
Wishing a safe and peace-filled journey with many beautiful photographs to share with us 🙂
I am of that generation, even saw the song performed live , one of my all time favorites

You’re Welcome…
I am an olde hippie LOLs, Simon and Garfunkle was one of my favorite duo’s still is…(with a military background added, maybe that is why I am always in chaos in my mind 🙂

What’s your military background? My dad was in the army. I too was a hippy of sorts.. The Indian variety anyway !
oh I wore a nehru jacket with bell bottoms LOLs…
I was in at the end of the Viet Nam war…I had orders for going at the same time of the fall of Siagon ,literally so we were redirected back to Ft Lewis, I worked at the Mars radio station while attached to the 54th Mast Helicopter ambulance ..I was in the last WAC battalion, no more WAC’s after we completed the males PT and training, I stayed in 6 years but TDY was not a way to raise kids…so I got out…
I enjoyed it, I liked signal ( I was in several MOS’s in signal, but mostly radio operator) I was a SSGT when I got out
both of my parents were Army, so I was a military brat too
okay too much info LOLs..I’ll stop…
hmmm you were a hippie? I did enjoy that era too LOLs
I hope you are having fun and taking lots of photos on your trip!

Thanks… I refused to join the army for one reason, and one reason only – they wanted me to cut my hair..
ahh i didn’t have too… mine is still long 🙂 I grew it out in basic training …seemed to keep me balanced and going in a direction I felt comfortable with… I think hair is the magick in our DNA sometimes 🙂
It is… Strangely, I entered the corporate world and cut my hair. And now I am growing it slightly!
maybe the winds whispers are calling you again.. 🙂
sometimes I think your hair holds the most important memories…..the longer the hair, the more you remember….the Native American Indians Believe their hair is the power of their intuition, their sense of direction…it does hold all our DNA I think… I know when I wore my hair short, I had no direction, saw no purpose of being here…my ways are centered these days…its hard to explain…..but I think you probably are feeling more, seeing more, hearing more, feeling more connected with Earth…
okay rambling again…. 🙂
