I took this shot at Jama Masjid in Delhi. I don’t normally put up photos for photo challenges on this blog. However, the topic was irresistible.
July 4 approaches, and the Americans do treasure this date.
For us, August 15 is the day we became a free nation.
I shall return to this topic around August 15.
What is freedom?
Which of the feathered friends is free?
Cry freedom, my friends..
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose?
Thus sang Janis… Yes indeed.. She was more right than we sometimes realise.
Freedom and many other popular important words have different meanings for different people. It’s like ying and yang. Some want freedom to rob people (it often includes leaders of countries), others want freedom (and weapons) to defend themselves.
Very true… It’s a topic that I will come around to. It’s a difficult one.. A really difficult one.
Great capture-pun intended;)
Thanks!
I agree with you, and with the other comments posted thus far.
This photo is perfect for this topic too. It really is a difficult topic…
Thanks.. It is a difficult one. But, maybe I shall return to it around August 15, if I don’t forget
How the hens envy the rooster for its freedom to be. This photo clearly shows contrast.
Thanks very much!
Any kind of dependence is giving up of your freedom. We are never really independent in that sense. This picture is an insightful visual reminder of all the chains that bind us.
Excellent shot for “exprimate” your subject!
Thank you!
AWEsome shot, R. Great way to jog our thoughts.
Thanks!
Love the colour tones.
“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.” –Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
This is so very true
I believe freedom is responsibility. It is about protecting that which we care about, and doing so by choice.
I look forward to your August thoughts, Rajiv.
Fabulous photo!
What a beautiful capture…now I wonder what you will share on August 15 ….I shall park myself here till then ☺☺
Yeah. I have thoughts churning in my head!
Great shot; intriguing metaphor. 🙂
